For specific dates that nuts are available send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org or call 4756 2035, mobile reception not available at Campanella.
Visitors must bring and wear appropriate clothing including:
- wet weather gear recommended
- foot wear suitable for the farm paddock
- gloves to handle chestnuts and walnuts, gloves not provided on site.
We reserve the right to refuse entry to the farm if visitors are not wearing appropriate footwear.
Cash only – no credit card or EFTPOS facilities.
There are over 100 walnut trees at Campanella Cottage, some over 35 years old. Varieties include “Franquette”, “Freshford Gem”, “Esterhazy”, “Vina”, “Teres Mayette” and “Irvine”.
Fallen walnuts, early to mid March to mid April, $10.00/kg (gather your own – please bring your own gloves and boots).
Our chestnut trees have been regrafted many times as newer varieties become available. Most are from West Australia, such as “Manjinup Mahogony” and “W A Early” but we also have “Red Spanish”, “Sassafras Green” and “Purdons Pride”.
